Nelson's Journey Donation

Proceeds from the Wroxham 5k Series Teas and Cakes have been donated to Nelson's Journey

The Norwich Road Runners are thrilled to announce that they have donated an incredible £1,110 to Nelson's Journey. The amazing amount was raised through the sale of drinks and cakes from the three Wroxham 5k Series Races, as well as a contribution from the club in lieu of the second race being postponed. Simon Wright, Nelson's Journey's Chief Executive Officer, joined the club for the evening and accepted the donation from our runners.

Mr Wright said: "The money raised by Norwich Road Runners will help Nelson's Journey to support an ever growing number of Norfolk's bereaved children. We are facing unprecedented demand for our services, and we are running hard ourselves to put smiles back on the faces of all children in need of help. We are very grateful to the Club and to all the runners who donated throughout the series of Wroxham races in support of our work. It was great to be able to visit the Club to thank members for their brilliant fundraising efforts, and also to join in with them for a really challenging training session!"

Wroxham 5k Series Director Nick Gurney said: "It is fantastic to see the running community in Norfolk support such a great cause. I am thrilled that the money raised from the Wroxham 5k Series will be going to Nelson's Journey, a charity that is close to the hearts of many of our members, and who undertake such fantastic work".
