Race Report: Peddars Way Ultra Marathon

A brave group of Norwich Road Runners ran the Peddars Way Ultra Marathon.

 

The National Trails web site gives the following description" 

Peddars Way and Norfolk Coast Path

"A walk along The Norfolk Coast Path National Trail is the perfect way to lose yourself in this magical land of sand dunes and salt marsh, sea air and warm welcomes.Peddars Way has a different character altogether. Rich in history and steeped in ancient legend the trail traverses the very best landscapes Norfolk has to offer. Peddars Way offers a wonderfully remote-feeling adventure just waiting for you to throw your rucksack over your shoulder, or jump on your bike.The Trail offers something for everyone from a gentle stroll to a 129.5 mile (208Km) walk."

WALK! It doesn't mention run! but that is what a number of intrepid Norwich Road Runners did when the competed in the Peddars way Ultra Marathon. It starts in Knettishall Heath in Suffolk and ends in Holmes next to the Sea on the Norfolk Coast, a distance of 48 miles.

Under the watchful eye of Mandy Foyster, our ultra running guru, a number of our runners have put in hours of training in all weathers either to to fulfil a dream of completing their first Ultra or to get yet another ultra under their belt

So well done firstly to John Hudson who came second in a time of 6:40:32
