Ringland Half Marathon

A new race from Norwich Road Runners - building on the success of the popular Broadland Half Marathon it was time to look for a new venue to accommodate the ever increasing demand.

The race takes a similar approach to the previous race, through Norfolk Countryside with additional benefits, such as partly closed roads, increased race capacity and on site parking.

The race is chip timed with a quality medal and goody bag for all finishers, a technical t shirt is also available to purchase through the entry process.

The Ringland Half Marathon is the Norwich Road Runners' premier race, and is an early highlight in the Norfolk Race Calendar. Attracting a large field of both fast club runners and new runners looking to try a distance race, the beautiful 13.1 mile course takes runners through the Norfolk Countryside using the Roarr! Dinosaur Park as Race HQ. The race is expected to very popular so sign up quickly!

Race Entry

Entry for the Ringland Half Marathon 2020 is available in November 2019

The minimum entry age is 17 (on the day of the race), as per UKA Rules and Regulations. 

Entries are non-refundable.

Transfers are available via Total Race Timing.

Race Location and Headquarters

The race is hosted from the Roarr..! Dinosaur Park in Lenwade, Norwich, NR9 5JE.

Please follow the signs for The Dinosaur Park itself.

The headquarters open at 08:00am, so runners can collect their numbers, chips, and and drop bags if necessary.

There will be a tea and cake stall kindly provided by the Dinosaur Park themselves.

There will be a mandatory briefing for all runners at 9:15am, before the start of the race.

The course is officially measured at 13.1 miles.

The race holds a full permit from UK Athletics (2019-36661), and is hosted under their Rules of Competition (UKA and IAAF Rule Book 2016-2018).

The course is fully signposted at every mile, and marshals are present at every corner and at key points along the route.

Please keep to the left side of the road at all times unless instructed otherwise.

Audio devices (including headphones and bone conducting headphones) are banned from the race - you need to be able to hear any traffic and marshal instructions. Anyone wearing headphones will be removed from the results (as per UKA Rule 240 S 5)

Similarly, runners are not allowed to run with a dog during the race (as per UKA Rule 240 S 6), and we do not allow runners to run with a race buggy.

There are water stations at 3, 6, 9 miles, as well as the finish line. The day can be warm so we recommend taking any water or gels you may need with you.

When crossing the finish line please proceed quickly through the finish funnel, collecting your medal and removing your timing chip. Water will be available at the finish.

Race Awards

Race Winner (Male and Female) are awarded, then 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place awards are available in the following categories:

Male: Senior, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, and 65+

Female: Senior, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, and 65+

Team prizes are also available for senior and veteran male and females, with three qualifying club runners.

All awards are based on 'Gun Time' results. First across the line wins the prize.

Awards will be presented around 12 noon in the race headquarters. We encourage you to stay after the race, have some tea and cake, and see who has won.
